Improve your Sales with Google Site Search for Business

You have created a wonderful sticky site and have worked really hard to make sure customers and users can navigate thru the site to find information and products they are looking for. But users prefer search to find information. Consider adding Google Site Search (previously called Custom Search Business Edition) to help your users find information they are looking for quickly and easily.
Google also has free custom search engine that can be implemented on the site. But it is primarily targeted towards individual websites and blogs. Google Site Search is the paid version targeted towards businesses and enterprise site search.
Advantages of using Google Site Search
  • Unlike Custom Search Engine, Google does not place ads on the Site Search results pages. So your users will not be distracted away.
  • You can add refinement label to your search results. So your users can click on the labels to get more focused results.
  • You can place subscribed links above search results for specific queries. This feature can be used to promote an event or product.
  • You can add synonyms and acronyms to improve search results.
  • You can add date bias to add weight to your newer content. For example, a news site would prefer to show recent articles first.
  • You can add priority to certain section of your site such as top products. These results will appear first.
  • You can add sitemap to Google Webmaster tools and Google Site Search will include these pages in search results even if these pages are not part of Google index.
